Gintoo is an abacus practice and competition product operated by Oviolearn EdTech Private Limited.

Every academy’s data is kept separate. One academy cannot see another’s students, teachers or reports.

Most students on Gintoo are children. We treat their data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) as data relating to children.

A student cannot log in until a teacher or academy admin has recorded parental consent in the product (who consented, contact details, and when). Optional parent confirmation links may be used; those one-time tokens are cleared after use or expiry.

We do not use children’s data for advertising, profiling for ads, or selling data.

We store only what the product needs to run class practice, reports and competitions. We do not store home address, school name, government IDs, photos of the child, device advertising IDs, or marketing profiles.

In plain terms, student records may include:

• Name — to identify the child in class lists, worksheets and reports
• Date of birth — age context for academy operations (not for advertising)
• Username — login identifier (no email required for the child)
• Hashed PIN — for authentication; we never store the raw PIN
• Abacus level (and kindergarten stage when needed) — to generate the right papers
• Academy and teacher link — which centre and teacher manage the student
• Active / inactive — soft-deactivate without deleting history until an admin permanently deletes
• Parent name and parent phone and/or email — for consent and academy communication
• Consent dates and who recorded consent — and optional parent confirmation details
• Illustrated avatar and favourite colour — chosen in the app; not a photograph
• Practice history — lesson progress, stars, XP events, badges, worksheet and competition attempts and scores (for teaching). Competition answer keys are never sent to a device
• Daily lesson goal — if the student sets one

If a teacher turns on the optional class XP leaderboard, classmates see first names and avatars only — not full contact details.

For teachers and academy admins we typically store:

• Name and email (for login and account)
• Hashed password
• Academy membership and role
• Subscription and seat information (periods, seat counts, payment references and receipt metadata — amounts in ₹ / paise)
• Session and device information needed for security (for example, one active student device session at a time)
• Optional settings such as class leaderboard on/off, and when a renewal reminder was last shown

The public site at https://gintooapp.com may collect what you type into the contact form: who you are (teacher, academy owner, parent or other), name, phone, optional email, city, number of students (for teachers / academy owners), and your message. We use that to reply and to follow up about Gintoo.

We use basic anti-spam measures (for example a honeypot field and rate limits). We do not sell website enquiry data.

Teacher seat subscriptions and some competition fees are paid through Razorpay. Card and UPI details are entered on Razorpay’s systems. We do not store card numbers or full payment instrument secrets. We store payment status, amounts, order references and receipt information needed for billing and support.

• Provide practice, worksheets, reports and competitions
• Authenticate users and keep accounts secure
• Record parental consent before student login
• Bill teachers for seats and issue receipts
• Respond to contact enquiries
• Improve reliability and fix bugs (operational logs)

We do not sell personal data.

We share data only as needed to run the service, for example:

• Razorpay — payment processing
• Hosting and infrastructure providers that process data on our instructions
• Within an academy — teachers and academy admins see their own students’ practice and reports as designed in the product

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

We keep account and practice data while the academy or teacher account is active and as needed for billing, disputes and legal duties.

Academy admins can export a student’s data and permanently delete a student from the product. Contact us if you need help with an export or deletion request.

We use industry-standard measures such as hashed passwords and PINs, encrypted transport (HTTPS), and academy-scoped access so one centre cannot read another’s data. No method is perfect; please keep login details private and tell us if you suspect misuse.

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or erase personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example, stopping a child’s use of Gintoo by working with the academy to revoke access and delete the record).
